Baby Show 2017, 18-20 August, 10am – 5pm
If you’re attending this year’s Baby Show, you might wonder what the show will be like and how to best get around. So we have created a list of handy tips for you to make your trip to the show as easy and enjoyable as possible:
- Getting to the show:
Parking will be available at the ASB Showgrounds for $10 (cash only) but it can get very busy, especially on the weekend. There’s some parking in other spots around the showgrounds so it might pay off to drive around the block (e.g. Cornwall Park).
If you can, share a ride (car, taxi) with friends. Or catch a bus and train, although it is a bit of a walk to get to the showgrounds. Check out Auckland Transport for further info on public transport.
- What to do when you get to the show:
When you enter the show, there will be awesome goodie bags available for you! But make sure to get there early as they are always snapped up quickly each day of the show.
If you haven’t registered your ticket online, make sure to register it at one of the iPad’s at the show entrance. By registering your ticket, you go into the draw to win the grand Baby Show prize AND you can then scan your ticket at all participating stalls that have giveaways – like ours! No more filling out of paper forms, you just scan the QR code of your ticket at participating stalls and you have entered the draws, easy as!
- Find us at the show:
The German Toy Store stand is located in Hall 2, Stand N10! You really can’t miss us as we are just a few stalls down from the Westfield Kids Entertainment Stage, the Seminar Room and the Mercury Parents’ Room! And there are also bathrooms, the café as well as an ATM near our stand, so quite a handy location!
- What we have on offer:
We will have amazing special prices on all our products! AND we will have certain products marked as “Show Super Deals” at even greater discounts – you can already find some of those on our show profile. We will also have all of our kids vehicles on display for you and your little ones to try out!
- Thinking of buying soft toys and/or kids vehicles? Here is what you should look for:
Little ones love to be active and play with fun toys that keep them entertained! Infants love looking at bright colours and fun shapes, touching different soft materials and learning how to reach and grasp for items. Older babies enjoy toys that provide more action, like a tumbler that bounces back or a soft ball that they can roll and throw. Once kids reach the toddler stage, they become more independent and have also mastered many developmental skills that allow for even more interactive play. Activity soft toys therefore make playtime fun and entertaining for little ones of all ages! And our educational soft toys are gorgeous to look at and fun to play with whilst helping your child develop hand-eye coordination and problem-solving skills, learn about cause-and-effect, spatial orientation and object recognition and how to share with others while engaging in social play.
Ride-ons: Being able to independently cruise around indoors and outdoors on a sturdy ride-on vehicle is fun for children from a young age onwards. Ride-on toys are also great for children’s growth and development by strengthening important muscle groups as well as improving their balancing and coordination skills. Our BIG and PUKY ride-ons are high quality products that provide a world of fun, freedom, choice, growth, and learning for your child.
Tricycles: Tricycles offer a safe way for toddlers and young children to develop and fine-tune their coordination skills such as pedalling and steering at the same time. In the beginning, children might need the help of an adult to get around (by using the push bar) but they will quickly figure out to set the tricycle into motion independently. Our sturdy PUKY tricycles with metal frames and a low centre of gravity keep your child safe during hours of play time fun.
Balance bikes: Balance bikes are the ideal pre-stage to proper bikes: Balance bikes are excellent for training young children’s sense of balance and coordination and are a very simple introduction to riding a proper bike without overstraining little ones. When children grow and get stronger, they can then smoothly transition to a pedal bike without the need of training wheels. Balance bikes are also great helpers when it comes to using caution, developing situational awareness and introducing basic traffic rules. Our PUKY balance bikes all have a low step-through and platform to ensure your child’s safety when getting on and off.
- What else to prepare before you attend the show:
On the Baby Show website, you can bookmark your favourite stalls. You can then print a map of the show with your highlighted favourites or view the map on your phone, how handy is that?
The Baby Show team has also created a handy shopping list that you can easily print out and bring along with you. Having a list of things that you need will make navigating your way through the busy halls a bit easier for you – and you can still add fun things to buy as you go!
- What to bring along with you:
We would recommend you bring as little as possible with you. The show gets really busy so carrying lots of things might hinder you walking around the show easily. If you are bringing your children with you, either bring a small stroller or front/back pack to keep your hands as free as possible. Bring some water and little snack for little ones and for yourself (especially if you are pregnant!) – you might be spending hours at the show.
Most of all, have fun and enjoy the show and everything that it has to offer, like the free seminars and kids entertainment! We look forward to seeing you there and meeting you in person!
